CIRCLE OF PHARMACY CARE: LONG-TERM CARE
Faster, Safer Med-Passes, Higher Quality Care

Parata improves safety and adherence in long-term care settings by innovating med-pass technology to deliver immediate, visible value for the facility as well as the pharmacy.

Med-Pass Reinvented
It takes just one look at a paper MAR (medication administration record) to know there must be a better way. Long-term care facilities must maintain MARs to verify each dose of each medication given to each patient.

Parata introduces the first true innovation in med-pass delivery in a generation: the convenience and accuracy of onePAC compliance packaging, managed by the powerful Catalyst Resident Management System (RMS).

onePAC's unit- and multi-dose packaging is prepared and verified by the pharmacy using Parata PACMED technology, and custom-printed with information that ensures the right patient receives the right medications at the right time...every time. PACMED can be purchased and utilized separately from Catalyst.
Catalyst RMS provides seamless integration from pharmacy to facility. Catalyst RMS:
   ·   Supports multi-dosing, the only eMAR to do so
   ·   Increases accuracy and efficiency of medication management
   ·   Manages inventory more cost- and time-efficiently
   ·   Reduces med-pass errors with doses packaged and verified at the pharmacy, bar-code scanning and patient photo identification
   ·   Facilitates best practices with robust reporting options.

HOW IT WORKS
STEP 1:
Pharmacy prepares and verifies a supply (e.g., 7- or 14-day) of onePAC packages in a perforated strip using Parata PACMED.

STEP 2:
onePAC strips are loaded onto a Catalyst-equipped cart for med-pass times.

STEP 3:
Med-Pass employee quickly and accurately accesses Catalyst eMAR and verifies key information on onePAC.

STEP 4:
Topical medications are supported with an anatomical diagram to validate where they are to be applied.

STEP 5:
Change and refill orders are automatically sent to the pharmacy.
